I was getting kind of nervous last week about the low level of bias in the HC since the first of the year.  It seemed like maybe they were getting it, and had turned a little more to the center.  But then “Whammo; More Ammo”!  Monday the 14th came in at 19 points for the libs, and 0 for the good guys.  After a little lull, Monday the 21st came in at 10L/4C, and today came in at 20L/2C.

So the scoring for 1/22/2008 went like this: The “Melting Doubts” editorial gets a 10L, and honorable mention for “Dumbest” of the year.  The letter from Robert McClean about more Republicans voting for the voting rights Act than Democrats gets a 2C, and the one about going easy on rapists from Victoria Stein gets a 1L.  E.J. Dionne gets a 4L for his puff piece on McCain, again showing the left’s preference for him, and saying things like the “Republican political machine that punishes free thinking”, and “(McCain), bravely opposed Bushes tax cuts”.

Dowd gets a 5L for another hit piece on Bush, saying things like “Hillary Clinton was right when she said it was pathetic that Bush had to beg the Saudis to drop the price of oil”.  This is typical DNC fare.  Of course there will be no opposing views in the HC, and nothing bad said about liberals or Democrats.

The total for this day is 20L/2C, and puts the score for the first 22 days of 2008 at Liberals 115, Conservatives 60, and the Chronicle bias rating at 39%.
